CAPMAP would like to acknowledge all the supporters that have made this project possible. The people listed just below are all fundamentally responsible for the success of the CAPMAP project.
Firstly, we would like to recognize Bob Caldwell. As Manager of Planning and Policy Services of the Planning and Development Department of The City of Edmonton he recognized the value of the project and provided initial funding and support.
Secondly, we would like to recognize Grant Pearsell. As a member of the South East Community Leagues Association (SECLA) he brought forward the concept of a green mapping component as an addition to the South East Community Plan. From an initial 10 SECLA communities in 2003, the CAPMAP project grew to cover the whole Edmonton Capital Region.
Next, we would like to acknowledge Glen Semenchuk; as Executive Director of The Federation of Alberta Naturalists (FAN) he was able to provide FAN's considerable resources in support of CAPMAP. Glen also sits as Chair of the Management Committee.
Jim Acton of the Area Councils Edmonton Society (ACES) was able to gather wide-spread community and government support for the project.
Dr. Heinz Pyszczyk, Parklands Archaeologist for Alberta Community Development provided historical insight and support to the project.
Vid Bijelić, CAPMAP Web Developer and GIS Specialist provided his considerable skill to the project.
Maja Osmanagić, Photographer, Editor and Research/Technical Assistant, brought her enthusiasm and diverse experience to the project.
John Bracegirdle and Vincent Capri, from the Community Initiatives Program and Alberta Gaming, facilitated funding for the project.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge Wendy Brawer and the Green Map System for their partnership with CAPMAP.
